Vintage Garage Antiques Market

Love the Vintage Garage Antiques Market! I had an antique shop space many moons ago and was planning on giving it another go at this cool antique market, but just wasn't to be at this time. This is a huge place with 17,000 square feet and plenty of vendors to shop! Read about this unque antique market here.

But that's not all, you've got to go tour the Miles Through Time awesome automotive museum! The museum is about 30,000 sq ft. and has 130 full-size vintage vehicles on display. the Miles Through Time Automotive Museum is located inside of the Antique Market. To quote the website; "There are more than just cars to view in the museum including a whole town, a replica of the first Phillips 66 Station, and a Fountain shop."

Miniature Folk Art Village

I love when my mini hand crafted wood buildings are assembled together and begin to look like a little village. A little wonky and rough, but I love'm :)

I ran across an interesting site of small buildings and structures. Many are indeed quite impressive. You can view and read about these wonderful small creations here at American Folk Art Buildings.

View this 15 min. video Rendered Small  "It explores the private collection of over 1,200 American folk art buildings meticulously curated and displayed by Steven Burke and Randy Campbell in their home in Hillsborough, North Carolina."

My mini buildings measure 4"H x 2"W and 7"H x 4.5"W

More Vintage Diner Ware

The china on the left are ESCO Hotel Ware. The red are Homer Laughlin. Homer Laughlin Hotel and Restaurant China was  introduced in 1959. The sugar bowl is Jackson China Measuring Device Corp N.Y. A major employer of the Jackson China Company was Falls Creek for 72 years. If interested, read an interesting article about a major collector here.

None of these are terribly valuable but I love the thickness and heft of the vintage diner ware china. I'm sure they were emotional buys, and reminiscent of days gone by when I spent hours sitting in a local diner with friends drinking cup after cup of coffee...a time when life was simpler.

Enjoy Using Vintage Diner Ware Mugs

Been using these diner ware/restaurant ware mugs for years. Not particularly rare, usually easy to find if you're out there scouring flea markets, thrift stores and antique shops. They're mid-century mugs that hold about 6 oz. of liquid, quite a contrast to today's single coffee order that can hold as much as 30 oz!

The "VICTOR" mug was originally manufactured for the armed services during WWll. Bit of interesting history about the "VICTOR" mug here. The mug with the green band has no markings.

According to 'Ai'  Ultima China was originally owned by Anchor Hocking from 1980 to 1988, and it is currently owned by World Tableware, based in Wallingford, Connecticut. Ultima China diner ware mugs were first produced by Buffalo Pottery, which began manufacturing restaurant ware in 1903.

Vintage Singer / Bentwood Case

This was a very cool vintage find! Early 1940's-50's Portable Electric Singer Sewing Machine in good working order complete with foot pedal, original manual, all accessories in original box and key to securely lock the Bentwood Case.

Most of the time it was stored in a closet and occasionaly saw the light of day when displayed in my sewing room. Gifted it to a woman who appreciated vintage items and enjoyed sewing. Went to a good home:)
