Denim Snap Card Wallets

I made several of these denim snap card wallets. 

A handy size measuring 4.5 inches x 3 inches with 2 pockets.

Great size to hold essentials like bills, cards and just toss in your bag or pocket.
 

Batik Fabric Card Wallets

 

I made these simple foldover wallets using batik fabrics. 

They're a 2-pocket wallet and measure 3.75 inches x 5.5 inches.

They're handy to hold a notepad and several cards. 

Basketful of Sea Shell Journals

Several Sea Shell Journals I bound using Irish Deep Scallop Sea Shells.

I did a Coptic Stitch Binding using waxed linen thread.

I utilized a variety of handmade papers; printable ivory paper with aster petals, white papers with silver & silk threads, parchment papers and natural Lokta printable paper.

A couple of the shells I distressed using crackle & texture paste; TH oxide sprays; rusty hinge,  speckled egg, vintage photo, and tarnished brass and sealed with acrylic spray.
 

 

Suede Leather Artist Journal

I bound this suede leather journal with handmade deckle edge paper which is 150 GSM, cold press paper. Wonderful journal for pencil sketching, pen & ink or watercolor. Handy size that measures 4.5" x 5.5". 

The binding was done using waxed linen thread with a 3-hole pamphlet stitch.
 

 It has a long suede leather wrap tie as a closure.

Chinese Thread Book ~ Zhen Xian Bao

I made this Chinese Thread Book / Zhen Xian Bao using handmade papers. Layers of textured handmade paper from Nepal called Batik Square Black & White and Batik Square Ivory & Beige and Floral screen printed paper from India. I crafted a belt fold band as the closure.

This origami folding book has 3 layers of 5 folding pockets.  Measures 4.5 inches square.

Chinese Thread Books are an old Chinese Folk Art. Women made these“Chinese Thread Books” to carry their sewing supplies. They would often include threads, snips of fabric, needles, paper patterns and other items all folded and tucked into pockets.

Bramble Bush is Blooming

It's spring and the first blooms on the Wild Bramble Bush are blooming. 

The term "bramble" generally refers to several species of thorny shrubs, with the most common being blackberries. Each blackberry fruit is formed of numerous fused carpels from a single flower.

As the blackberries emerge they will swiftly vanish, providing a delightful feast for the wildlife in the vicinity.
