Triangle Zip Pouches

These were remarkably straightforward to create after following a tutorial on Notches Sewing. The tutorial called for 4.75 inch squares of fabric, I opted for 6-inch squares, resulting in a pouch 5 inches tall with a 5 inch triangular base. I selected some fabrics from my stash, including a playful, boho-hippy inspired design, which added a lively touch to these pouches.

She demonstrated an interesting technique; cutting off the zipper pull and setting it aside, separating the zipper and utilizing only one half of the zipper and re-attaching the zipper pull. Always eager to learn something new!

Mini Concertina Book ~ 'The Secret Place'

This mini Concertina /Accordion Book was made using washi paper for the pages. The cover is handmade cardstock. Text used was torn papers from a vintage book. The images are (Girl Portrait on Scrap Collage) from CherylFrancisART (Etsy) which I resized and matted onto handmade papers which were then matted onto my washi pages.

The mini book measures 3.5"W x 2.5"H and I store it in a vintage Classic Retro Camera Tin.

Fabric Origami Envelope Pouches

I viewed a video for this Origami Envelope with Diamond Shape folded with paper and decided to replicate it with fabric.

I used two coordinating 10" Layer Cake Squares of fabric (Retro Floral-100% cotton) to sew each pouch. Used Pellon Fusible Interfacing SF101 on the outer fabric. Sewed the 2 pieces of fabric right sides together, leaving an opening for turning.

After turning it right side out, I pressed and top stitched the sewn square. I folded my fabric square following the paper folding technique on BrightAndEasy.

Once assembled, I pressed my folded seams and top stitched the pouch along the two sides and bottom creating the pockets. I added KAM snaps as shown in the photos.

The finished pouch/envelope measures 4.25"W x 3.5"H and has two pockets.

Conveniently sized to hold business cards or other small items. These envelopes are perfect for enclosing a note or just saying thanks. Their charming design makes delightful gifts on their own!

Blizzard Book ~ 'the Story'

This is a 'Blizzard Book' which is inspired by a design Hedi Kyle created. I used heavy Kraft Paper for folding the structure. For the pages I used 100% Cotton Rag Cardstock (200GSM)-Handmade Deckle Edge Paper. Book Measures 4"W x 6" H

I collaged the pages using a variety of elements. Dandelion images were from CherylFrancisART on Etsy which I resized and printed on Lokta handmade paper. Text are torn phrases from a vintage book. I used some assorted colored handmade papers to create frames using die cuts and the Sizzix Manual Die Cut machine. The sweet little girls are from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology mini paper doll collection.

Below is a short flip through video...enjoy!

Hippy Boho Snap Coin Pouches

I bought a fabric bundle (10" x 10") of this fun retro fabric which had a total of twelve pieces. I wasn't sure what to use it for till I found this easy to follow tutorial for these snap pouches. They are sewn using 8" square pieces of fabric (1 outer fabric with stabilizer & 1 for lining) using a 7" diameter circle as a pattern.

Handy for cards, bills, coins, keys or any small items like earbuds!

You can find an easy to follow tutorial over at "Misaki Sewing" for these lined snap pouches sewn from circles! In this particular video she demonstrates how to sew two types of pouches from circles. The tutorial for the one I sewed begins at about 10 minutes into the video.

I used cotton fabric, Pellon SF101 fusible stabilizer and KAM snaps as fasteners. Finished size of pouch measures 4.5"W x 3"H

Cute Accessory Cases!

I sewed a bunch of these cute fabric accessory cases using coordinating fabrics for the lining. The base measures approximately 3" square and 3"H.

Fold over for a cute contrast.

There's an easy to follow tutorial on kcoton if interested in sewing some of these charming accessory cases for yourself!

Each of the minis are reversible too!

Small & Tiny Boxy Pouches

Little Boxy Pouches! These Small lined Boxy Pouches on the left measure 5" in width, 2.5" in depth, and 3.5" in height. They are crafted using cotton fabrics from the "Tilda" range and a collection of William Morris print fabrics. I initially believed these would be difficult to sew, but the Handmade Channel at Will made the process straightforward with her clear and easy-to-follow tutorial.

The Tiny Boxy Pouches below were just as simple to create by following a tutorial on Misaki Sewing. For these lined pouches I used fabrics from the Tilda Collection. Dimensions: 4"W x 2.5"D x 2"H
