Oriental Lady's Thumb

Persicaria Longiseta is a species of flowering plant in the 'knotweed' family known by the common names Oriental Ladys Thumb, Creeping smartweed, Low smartweed, Bristly smartweed, Tufted knotweed, and Asiatic smartweed.

The Lady's Thumb flowers can bloom anytime from late spring to early fall.

It's an invasive species...has definitely spread prolifically around here!

Another pretty weed!

Mini Keychain Albums

These were fun little mini keychain albums (or ornaments) that I made by following a video tutorial on RosaKellyScrapbooking on YouTube. She provides you with all the cutting and folding dimensions.

 One I created using vintage Christmas photos which made a sweet little photo album. The albums measure 2" wide x 2.5" tall. The other little keychain booklets I made using Dina Wakely Media Collage Sparks cardstock papers. When assembled these made cute abstract collage albums. I used black cardstock for the base. Fun style to create a variety of mini keychain albums or even ornaments, get creative!

'Inchie' Mixed Media Journal

This was a quick little spontaneous book I created using leftover scraps that were sitting on my table from a few previous projects. I started playing around, cutting, folding, tearing, distressing, inking, stamping, taping and gluing. I was surprised that I rather liked the interesting result!

Guess it's more of a 'twinchie' rather than an 'inchie' :)

Dust If You Must

Dust if you must, but wouldn’t it be better
To paint a picture, or write a letter,
Bake a cake or plant a seed;
Ponder the difference between want and need?

Dust if you must, but there’s not much time,
With rivers to swim, and mountains to climb;
Music to hear, and books to read;
Friends to cherish, and life to lead.

Dust if you must, but the world’s out there
With the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair;
A flutter of snow, a shower of rain,
This day will not come around again.

Dust if you must, but bear in mind,
Old age will come and it’s not kind.
And when you go (and go you must)
You, yourself, will make more dust.
