Ode To The Bee

This is a little book I made...actually 2 books, a book within a book with a honeybee theme. It measures 4" x 5" and makes for a handy little pocket journal. This was inspired by Nik the Booksmith and I used several of her digital graphics that I resized and printed for this smaller journal. I used celery parchment paper for the pages.  You can see a short video of 'Ode To The Bee' here in another post.

Zippy Pouches

Simple little lined Zippy Pouches. Elaine over at The Sewing Basket does a great tutorial for this method. The size she makes uses convenient 10" pre-cut layer cake squares of fabric that usually come in packs of 40. It takes 4 squares to make this lined pouch. She also offers a PDF pattern.

Her pattern includes fabric requirements, cutting dimensions, diagrams and written instructions. Her video covers the complete construction of this pouch including an easy method to install the zipper.

Brambles

The Rubus Alleghaniensis,
or common blackberry bush, blooms in late spring or early summer and produces
fruit in the summer.

Couldn’t resist capturing more photos of the blooms before the berries appear which will become a source of food for our friends in the forest. Most often they manage to get there before we do!

  Imagine most are considered weeds!

What Lovely Weeds!

Two Pocket Wallet Clutch

This is a simple to sew 2-pocket wallet clutch. You can find an easy to follow tutorial over at Lizzy Curtiss’s channel on YouTube.

Measures 7.5 inches by 4.5 inches. Handy for everyday use.

Make custom notepads to fit. Choose a sheet of decorative cardstock measuring 8” W x 7”L and fold in half. Select your papers 1/4” shorter at 7.75” W x 6.75” L and fold in half to fit inside cover. With a sewing machine (or by hand using a pamphlet stitch) stitch down the center. Easy Peasy!

Fabric Foldover Pouches

Made these easy to sew adorable foldover pouches following a tutorial over on Sotak Handmade on YouTube.

Some fabrics I used were cotton linen blends from the Robert Kaufman collections Quarry Trail and Around The Bend. I used cotton fabrics for the lining. Folded they measure 6 inches wide by 5 inches high. Open they stand at 8 inches tall.

I couldn't make just one!

Zinnias

Vibrant, gorgeous color!  Such a sweet looking flower especially when grouped with only two or three in a pot.  The plant embodies simplicity. A precious little flower.
